Mark is an East Bay native, and went to sunny UC-San Diego for college. Then he received his call into ministry and pursued a Masters of Divinity at Talbot Theological Seminary. During his 20 years in Southern California, he served as a youth pastor at Cypress Baptist Church and a college pastor at Jesus Community Church. In 2006, Mark planted Kairos Church and served as the founding pastor for 5 years until sensing a call to return back to the Bay Area to start Radiance.
Mark is an avid golfer, loves to play basketball, and is still a big fan of the Niners, Giants, and yes, even the Warriors. Some of his favorites are: TV series–Friday Night Lights, movies–Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan, and books–anything by C.S. Lewis and Philip Yancey.
Mark’s been married for over 20 years to Mira, who’s been with him every step of the way in this crazy journey of following God. In her free time, Mira loves shopping, coffee, and going on hiking dates with Mark. She also enjoys hanging out with the local elderly, and getting to know others in the Fillmore district. Her focus currently is inner healing and counseling as well as getting to know the women at Radiance. Mira has a deep desire to see women healed from their past hurt and experience freedom to discover their identity and purpose in God. They have 2 beautiful children, Jeremiah and Carissa, and enjoy spending time together as a family and hiking around San Francisco!
